Iris Carter endures years of neglect from a father who worships her scheming half-sister Madison. At college she falls for bodyguard Ryan Vanderbilt, unaware he is a dynastic heir courting her only to reach Madison. Graduation exposes his betrayal, and she watches him enable Madison's cruelty for years. Finally done, Iris volunteers to take Madison's spot in an arranged marriage to Liam Archibald, the comatose scion of a rival dynasty. When Liam awakens, their contractual union deepens into genuine affection, uncovering a long-hidden connection between their families, while Ryan realizes too late that Iris was the one he truly wanted.
