Cecilia Sterling, chairman of Sterling Medical Group, protects her privacy by working one anonymous day a year as a gynecologist. That shield collapses when her son Adrian demands she approve his rushed engagement to Sophia. Sophia and her mother Vanessa storm into Cecilia's exam room, and a positive syphilis test triggers a vicious assault. They beat Cecilia, stomp her hand, smash her phone, and bind her with intern Claire inside a supply closet. Adrian arrives but believes Sophia's lie that Cecilia is a deranged doctor. Claire breaks them free, pays for Cecilia's emergency surgery, and recognizes her as the surgeon who once saved Claire's mother. Conscious again, Cecilia prepares to reveal the truth at the engagement banquet.
