By night Betty performs on stage; by dawn she scrubs hotel rooms, every dollar ear-marked for her mother's care. Marcus, a feared syndicate head, storms the club chasing rumors of restored virility and brushes past every other dancer until Betty commands his full, dangerous attention. At the same time Anthony, a wealthy heir who has kept his lineage concealed, quietly abandons his inheritance to place himself entirely at her disposal. She is caught between a ruthless kingpin who sees possession as love and a privileged son who treats surrender as proof of devotion.
