Mafia leader Dominic holds Elena captive for half a decade, blaming her for the drunk-driving collision her parents caused that erased his entire family. He subjects her to relentless torment despite her complete innocence, binding her to him through a shattered engagement. The stalemate shatters only when Elena walks into the river, choosing death over another day in his cage.
