Stray puppy Crumb survives by convincing the Wolf Queen she is a lost cub, earning a place in the pack despite constant bullying over her mixed heritage. When an elder's treachery surfaces — he murdered the Queen's true offspring — Crumb awakens the extinct Soul-Eater Hound lineage, gaining command over ghost wolves to expose the killer. She then surrenders every scrap of that supernatural strength to shield her adoptive family, reverting to an ordinary dog, yet the pack refuses to abandon her.
