Condemned as a traitor, Lord Edmund's daughter Yarella survives only because Kane, the sentinel assigned to her, bears silver-dragon lineage that sets him apart from ordinary guards. Instead of delivering her to execution, he becomes her shield across battle-scarred plains and frozen wastes. Their desperate bid to reclaim her birthright hinges on winning the allegiance of suspicious northern clans, even as betrayal shadows every negotiation. Beyond the great ice wall, something far older than political rivalry stirs, threatening to consume the very land they fight to liberate.
