Everyone sees Princess Lily as the promised bride, but Prince Laren becomes the substitute after she attempts suicide. Dragon King Arthur remembers Laren as the boy who rescued him twelve years earlier and proceeds with the marriage despite Laren’s male body. Pure-blood dragon magic reshapes Laren so he can carry an heir. The old Dragon King and noble Cecilia plot Laren’s death, forcing him into a duel where a conceived egg preserves his life. Arthur’s possessive devotion clashes with Laren’s belief that he is only a breeder. Later, Prince Karl humiliates Laren in Lawrence and targets Lily. Arthur appears in black-dragon form to rescue him. Laren removes his father, installs Lily on the throne, and returns to Dragon Castle to give birth. When the old king stages a coup, Arthur defeats the rebels and takes the crown.
