An ancient statute binds human Ayla Thorne to the Silvermoon Pack and four Wolf Lords — Kaden, Kael, Cedric and Damian — who view the tie as obligation rather than destiny. When they mockingly challenge her to leave, she accepts and swears five years to the Ashland Watch, the pack's oldest rival. Her departure finally forces the lords to confront the weight of what they dismissed.
