When catastrophe fractures the world, former special forces captain Karen, scientist Eli, mechanic Jasper, seventeen-year-old Lexi and eleven-year-old Milo are thrown together in flight. Milo's intellect instantly outpaces the adults' training, turning him into the squad's essential strategist against mutated beasts stalking the ruins. Lexi carries physical proof from before the collapse that identifies the disaster's architects, painting a target on the entire group.
