A party mix-up leaves Evelyn, a passionate artist, drugged by a soda meant for the campus hockey star. The incident hands the arrogant captain leverage to demand a high-stakes wager: they must perform a convincing relationship for onlookers. Two years earlier Evelyn had buried her crush on him, convinced the feelings were gone. As they rehearse dates and staged intimacy, the pretense strips away her defenses and drags those dormant emotions back into the light.
