Mortal priestess Kressa suffers a Tartarus death curse removable only by a centennial Golden Apple from Olympus. Her soulmate Zale, son of Poseidon, seizes the fruit and feeds it to her sister Melora to mend a slight magical burn. Abandoning care at Apollo's Temple, Kressa drinks Lethe poison mixed with Styx water, numbing her agony while dooming her soul to ash within three days.
