Childhood companions Seraphina and Luca wed to unite the Silver Moon and Thorn clans after war, but he vanishes on a border patrol. She births daughter Vera alone as their mate bond snaps, mourning him as dead. Five years later Luca resurfaces with his former partner Isabella and her child, confessing he faked his death and severed the bond himself to divert the cure for cold poison to Isabella, leaving Vera critically untreated. Seraphina awakens dormant power, dissolves the bond, and reclaims Vera for Silver Moon. Luca assaults the clan and falls in defeat; Isabella kidnaps Vera and forces a confrontation at a freezing pool where Luca drags her under to drown. A year on, Seraphina marries Haken and rules both clans as united Alpha.
