Wall Street magnate Ryan Chase is drugged and thrown overboard by fiancée Mia during a celebration, washing ashore voiceless and with no memory of his past. Mute cook Sophia pulls him from the water and gives him a place in her family restaurant, where her stepmother Diane metes out daily cruelty. As Ryan and Sophia bond through their shared silence, her father James collapses from a critical illness. Meanwhile Mia forges a marriage certificate to claim Ryan's multi-billion-dollar fortune, while his loyal assistant Thomas wages a covert battle to protect what remains. When Diane learns Ryan's true identity yet still refuses to help James, he contacts Thomas and prepares to reclaim everything that was stolen.
