Lina Navera survives the Forbidden Forest after beauty-obsessed parents discard her for bark skin and thorn hair, raised by a witch until an enchanted stream rewrites her appearance. The magic also exposes Lark as Riviera's crown prince, already pledged to noblewoman Verei. When Lina refuses to abandon him, she is jailed and forced into the Rite of Blossoms, a trial that could make her queen. As Verei schemes and the ancient forest withers, Lina uncovers a dark family secret that threatens the kingdom itself.
