Ivy marks her twenty-fourth birthday at an amusement park expecting acknowledgment from the people closest to her. A log flume drenches the group, and her boyfriend, brother, and childhood friend instantly form a wall of umbrellas around their adopted sister. No one extends the same courtesy to Ivy, who remains drenched and unnoticed in the spray. The deliberate exclusion forces her to confront how little she matters to those she trusts most.
